Margaret Peg Bethune 1924 2022

Obituary of Margaret “Peg” Bethune
nee Sharp
We give thanks for the life of Margaret, a faithful servant who left us March 11th in her 98th year, surrounded by family at home. Margaret was born on a farm in Ayr on March 31, 1924. She was very proud to be a Registered Nurse, a graduate of Hamilton General Hospital, class 47A and loved nursing.
Margaret was the beloved wife of Malcolm (d. 2004) for 55 years. Margaret and Malcolm raised their four children on the family farm in Hamilton – Jean (Robin), Tom (Jean), Barbara (Alejandro), and Jamie (Ria). As a caring grandma, she derived much joy from her grandchildren Greg (Sarah), Andrew (Tammy), Kyle (Viktoria), Ian (Taylor), Philip (Rochelle), Corey (Stefanie), Gillian (Andrew), Darcy (Shannon), Colleen (Kyle), Grant and delighted in her 14 great-grandchildren. Margaret was an active and faithful member of Barton Stone-Mount Hope United Church for 74 years. Although we mourn her loss, we are grateful that our Mother and Grandma is now at peace.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at Barton Stone-Mount Hope United Church on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joyce Pearce and the Rev. James Grunden officiating. The livestream will be available on the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home Facebook Page. To watch Livestream Funeral Service, please CLICK HERE. Interment to follow at adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Ukraine crisis. Gifts can be donated CLICK HERE. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
