Being born, growing up, and raising her own family in Carleton County, Margaret Dunbar (Harvey) was a valued member of her community who contributed in many ways.
From participating in the Women’s Institute to being an active member of the Presbyterian church to baking for her neighbours, she was continuously trying to give back.
Margaret was the true definition of a sweetheart, very loving, thoughtful and kind. She hated to see people upset or hurting and would do anything within her means to help others. She always welcomed everyone into her home with a warm smile and the offer of something to eat.
Margaret loved being a mother and cherished being a grandmother and great grandmother. She always had a soft spot for children and animals.
Her enjoyment in life came mostly from her family, friends and community. However, she also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, baking and hunting for four leaved clovers on the Dunbar farm; a hobby that landed her in the local newspaper for her impressive, plentiful collection.
Margaret Dunbar was deemed to be one of the luckiest ladies around, and that she truly was. She was blessed to have had a multitude of loving, caring people around her for her long life of 93 years. May she rest gracefully in peace.”
