Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on May 11, 2022, at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, Margie Leone Burgess passed away at the age of 67 years. Beloved wife and best friend of Douglas Burgess for 47 years. Margie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Kendra Burgess and Lauren (Aaron) Kilbreath. Cherished Nana of Lily and Jack Kilbreath, who were her pride and joy. Daughter of the late Carolyn and Douglas Waite. Predeceased by her sister Carol Roberts and brother Paul Waite. Fondly remembered as Auntie Marg to Chris and Jeff Roberts of Burlington Ontario.
As a career, Margie’s life was dedicated to helping others. As a Registered Nurse for 40 years, she was respected for her dedication, compassion, her wit and sense of humour. It was in her Nursing career where she made many lifelong friendships. Margie also treasured childhood friendships that were still strong to this day.
If Margie taught us anything, it was to love one another, be kind to each other, laugh so hard your stomach hurts, read a good book, have a long chat with a friend, have a swim at the beach, watch a good hockey game and enjoy all the good things life has to offer.
At Margie’s request cremation has taken place. The family would like to thank Dr. Lilly and the Palliative Care team at Bluewater Health. The care and love she received was second to none and it brought peace to her family. A private family service will be held in her honour. Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to Literacy Lambton (cheques only at the funeral home, please). Messages of condolences and memories may be left at smithfuneralhome.ca

So sorry to hear of Marg’s too soon passing. She was a wonderful neighbour on Devon and a caring nurse to my husband.
