Obituary of Lynda Gagnon
Lynda Gagnon, née Barthelette, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at her residence in Paradise Village on Friday, September 2nd, 2022, at the age of 78. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Louis Gagnon, her son Vance (Linda Berkvens), three grandchildren, Jay Meilleur, Derek Cross and Jared Decoteau (Mariah Martin) and great-grandchild Cheyenne Cross. She will also be dearly missed by her cousins, Ken, Keith, Blair, Lloyd and Shirley, as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law, Claire and Gilles Desorcy, Lillian Gagnon, Estelle and Guy Taillefer, Gérard and Yvette Gagnon, Roland and Carmelle Gagnon, numerous nieces and nephews and their spouses, as well as special friends.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Michelle Marriot, her mother which she lost in infancy, her grandparents who raised her, Uncle Joe and Auntie Olive Allard who were very special to her, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, Yvette and Wilfrid Turenne, Oscar Gagnon, Jos Gagnon, Jeannette and Donat Desorcy, Gilberte and Lorne Friesen, and nephew and niece.
Lynda was born on March 26, 1944, and married on November 9, 1963. She was always a kind and quiet lady, worrying about others while being thankful for what she had. She was happiest creating beautiful objects with her hands, that she then shared generously with family and friends. A hairdresser by trade, she also worked in photography for many years, loved gardening, travelling and camping. Her delicious deserts will be missed at potlucks as well as her inspirational messages on facebook. She was the loving ear in whom you could confide. She loved little children, shopping, music, and let’s not forget her fury friends, Ginger, Oreo and Rocky.
She will be dearly missed. We will long cherish memories of times spent with her. Dear Lynda, you can now walk the gardens of heaven and be reunited with your daughter Michelle, accompanied by angels and butterflies that you liked so much. And soon, we will join you.
A celebration of life for Lynda will include a mass on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint-Joachim Church, 101 Principale St, La Broquerie, MB, followed by an interment at the Saint-Joachim Cemetery, and a reception with presentation at the Centre de l’Amitié, 97 Principale St, La Broquerie, MB.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lynda
