Louise MacClure December 1st 1929 April 29th 2022 avis de deces

Peacefully with family by her side at the Souris Hospital on Friday, April 29, 2022, Jean Louise MacClure (nee MacLennan) passed away at the age of 92 years. Born on December 1, 1929 in Charlottetown she was the beloved wife of the late Derrell (D.B.) MacClure and loving mother of Shane (Shirley) MacClure, Cindy (Pete) Dearborn, Cheryl (Lee) Blois, Sheila Rose and Patty (Lindsay) Rose.
Dear grandmother of Brandy Colwill, Josh and Jerimee MacClure, Troy (Alice) Dearborn, Trevor (Steph Skelton) Dearborn, Natalie (Johnny) Long and Shawn Dearborn, Rachel Blois, Deanna LaBrech, Carolyn (Dustin) MacPhee, Tyler and Jenny Rose, Andrew Larocque and Jason Rose. Great grandmother of Hailey, Jake, Ty and Camden Colwill, Skyler Long, Iris and Euan Dearborn and Callum MacPhee.
Louise will be fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law Janet MacClure (Joe Reardon), brother Garth MacLennan, nieces Carrie Jarvis and Valerie (Jamie) Thomson, nephews Duane (Janet) MacLennan and Darren MacLennan (Maureen Proctor), along with grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband Derrell, parents George and Jean (MacCabe) MacLennan, infant sister Lorraine, sons Laurie and Wade, and sons-in-law Paul LaBrech, Mark Rose and Junior Larocque.
Louise grew up in Alexandra and graduated as a registered nurse from the P.E.I. Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for twenty years in hospitals and manors in Parrsboro and Windsor, N.S., Charlottetown and Souris, P.E.I. where she cared for patients and residents as if they were family. She was a quiet and gentle person, the main focus of her life being the raising of her family with her husband Derrell. She was an inspiration to many, living independently on her own for thirty years after his death.
Louise was known within the community for her friendliness and kindness. She was also very dedicated to her daily walks upstreet. Even on storm days or in heavy rain, Louise never missed a day, often refusing drives from passersby. She will be deeply missed within the community. “The testament of a good life is that you have made the world a better place for others”, which she certainly did.
The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care given to our mother during her time at Souris Hospital. The compassion shown to her by the entire nursing staff and her doctors will always be remembered.
Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held at Kingsboro Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 3 pm, with interment to follow in the Brackley Beach Cemetery. If so desired, donations in memory of Louise can be made to Souris Hospital, Brackley Beach Cemetery, or a charity of your choice.
