Lorraine Myrtle Gaudett
1944-2022
The passing of Lorraine Myrtle (Seelye) Gaudett, wife of
David Allen Gaudett of Pennfield NB occurred at the Saint John
Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on February 24, 2022. Born in Blacks
Harbour NB on September 1, 1944, she was a daughter of the late
Murchie and Bernice (Hennessey) Seelye. A loving wife, mother,
grandmother, sister and friend, in addition to her husband David,
Lorraine is survived by her sons: Stephen (Deanna) Gaudett and Daniel
Gaudett both of Blacks Harbour NB; grandchildren: Jonathan Wilkins,
Alex Wilkins and Desiree Wilkins; great-grandchildren: Lucas Wilkins,
Levi Wilkins and Georgia Wilkins; brothers: David (Betty) Seelye of
L’Etang NB, Peter Seelye of Blacks Harbour NB, John (Rose) Seelye of
Utopia NB, Mark (Bonnie) Seelye of Blacks Harbour NB, Chris Seelye
(Patsy Blanchard) of St. George NB and Fred (Ann) Seelye of Bocabec
NB; sisters: Bonnie Hooper of Oak Bay NB, Mary (Alphonse) Blanchard of
Blacks Harbour NB and Nancy (Dale) Welles of Beaver Harbour NB and
Paula (Bedford) Spicer of Red Rock NB; many nieces, nephews and
cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one brother:
Eugene Seelye.
Prior to retirement, Lorraine worked for several years with
Connors Bros in Blacks Harbour NB. She was an avid cook who was famous
for her homemade fudge and was the family “go to” for any
function that required food. She had a heart of gold and loved
children and took all the local kids in as her own. Her family was the
most important thing in her life and she cherished her time she spent
with her grandchildren.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Funeral
Home with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The service will be
held from the funeral home chapel on Monday at 2:00 pm with Rev.
Gordon Cooke officiating. The interment will be held in the Pennfield
Rural Cemetery in the spring. In Lorraine’s memory, donations to a
charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Due
to Covid-19 restrictions, proof of vaccination and a government ID
will be required to attend the visitation and mask use will be
required at both the visitation and the funeral service.
