Obituary for
Lorenzo Rinaldo
It is with profound sadness that the family of Lorenzo Rinaldo announce his peaceful passing on November 3, 2021 at the age of 86.
Lorenzo was predeceased by his soulmate Doris in 2013, he will be lovingly remembered by his 3 children, Perry (Noella), Laurie (Paul), Randy (Ginette), forever missed by his 4 grandchildren, Jonathan, Hilary (Andrew), Carly (Dane), Anthony, and his 3 precious great-granddaughters, Francesca, Julia and Louisa.
Also predeceased by his parents Zenone and Julia, his brother, Carlo and his brother-in-laws Giovanni Padovan and Pietro Torresan, survived by his brother Gilberto (Cecilia), sisters Maria and Luciana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will also be remembered by the many friends he had made throughout his lifetime.
An immigrant from Italy when he was 20, he came to Canada with a grade 3 education, he spoke no English at the time but he had an uncanny ability to absorb information, he taught himself languages and his wealth of knowledge he gained through reading.
He was a lifetime miner and he was deeply respected as a trainer during his years spent at Kidd Creek, his intellect was wasted working underground but even after retirement, those years spent working at the mine were years well spent earning a living to support his family.
He loved soccer, Formula One, Ferrari and his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, he could talk at length about any sport albeit never playing any himself, he described watching sports as enjoying the beauty of the process.
Lorenzo lived a simple life, he was a loving husband, dad/pops, grandpa and great-grandpa, he was humble, caring, the best joke teller, his love for his family knew no bounds, he was a true gentleman and he set the standard high as a role model.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Doctor Auger and to the staff at the Golden Manor for their care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:30am from the chapel of the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home. Remembrance donations to the Timmins Food Bank would be appreciated.
