Obituary
Lois Clare McKay (nee Meadows) passed away at the age of 71 after a six-year battle with Alzheimer. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Rae and Kay Meadows. Beloved wife for 51 years of Ronald McKay. Loving mother of Murray McKay (Rhonda), Mark McKay (Kim) and Ryan McKay (Sonya). Grandmother of Andy, Brayden, Justin, Meghan, Ashley, Reese and Avery.
Sister to Dale Meadows (Joan) and Marilyn Schneider. Sister-in-law to Donna McKay and Maxine Schaeffer (Bruce). Predeceased by her brother-in law Wayne Schneider and nephew Steven Schneider.
Lois and Ron operated a dairy farm in Downie Township (Perth South) for over 40 years. Lois raised her sons, helped on the farm, and worked part time in Ladies clothing stores. She coached girls baseball in Downie Township and was chairperson for the Souvenir Committee at three Perth County International Plowing Matches. Thankfully Ron and Lois enjoyed numerous holidays all around North and Central America before she became ill.
Visitation will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, January 4, from 6-9 p.m. and on Thursday, January 5, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment at Avondale Cemetery.
