Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lois Bernice Knupp. Mom passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022, at Walden Heights Age Care, Calgary. She was 93 years old.
Lois was born and raised in the De Winton district. She attended Stormont school for nine years then went to De Winton High School and then Olds Agriculture School.
In 1947 she married Jack Knupp and they raised five children in De Winton. In 1968 they moved to her grandma Dalzell’s farm west of De Winton where she lived until she went to Walden Heights Retirement Home in 2014.
In addition to all of her responsibilities on the farm, she was also an active member and supporter of the De Winton United Church, the De Winton Community Association, and the De Winton Ladies Group.
Lois will be deeply missed by her children Karen (Ken), Rick (Lynn), Melody (Danny), and son-in-law Len; her ten grandchildren Vicky (Greg), Jackie (Terry), Lori (Jeremy), Angie (Aaron), Cody, Todd, Kyle, Kailey, Brett, Justin (JoAnna), thirteen great-grandchildren and six great, great-grandchildren.
Lois is predeceased by her husband of 50 years Jack in 1997; her two brothers Ivan and Allen; her daughter Linda; son Larry; daughter-in-law Linda; and grandson Robbie.
Our family wishes to express sincere gratitude to all the Doctors, Nurses, and all Caregivers at Walden Heights Age Care for their incredible care and kindness to our Mom and our family when we visited Mom. Also, a special thank-you to Dee (hairdresser) and Marlet (Happy Feet).
As per Mom’s wishes, there will be no funeral. A family interment at Pine Creek Cemetery will be held at a later date.
