Obituary
Linda Patricia Schaab (nee Floyd), aged 64, passed away peacefully at the Central Okanagan Hospice House on August 21, 2022 just after 2pm PST.
Her sickness came on very fast and was a shock to the family, especially her daughter that she was making plans with thinking she would be out of the hospital in no time. She had just gotten the bicycle she had always wanted and was excited to get into riding it. She is in a better place with the angels though now and no longer struggling to breath.
Linda was very creative and excelled in writing. She wrote articles for various newspapers and magazines and has won prizes in writing competitions. Humour, music and food were some of the topics that she wrote about. She enjoyed her time in various Toastmasters clubs in the Peace River and the Okanagan regions where she won numerous awards.
Linda had a love for music her whole life. She played the saxaphone for many years and played in the Dawson Creek Kiwanis band. The next instrument that she mastered was the flute and followed more recently with the mandolin which was her new passion.
Linda married her high school sweetheart, Richard, whom she was married to for 30 years. She is survived by her brother John, her daughter Leah, and son Mitch (Nicole) and his 3 daughters (Sophie, Ava, and Charlotte).
Born in Penticton and then moving to Dawson Creek for 26 years, she moved back to the Okanagan that she loved so much. She was in Vernon for a number of years and then Kelowna. She loved to be lakeside or in the mountains and take in all the scenery and watch birds and have picnics making meals outside on her little stove.
Linda is missed immensely by her friends and family. It is so hard to write this and know that my Mum wont be proof reading it for me like she has with every other important thing I have written in my life.
