Obituary
With great sadness, the family of the late Linda Mattison announce her passing at the Canora Gateway Lodge on May 8, 2022, at the age of 75 years.
Linda was born to John and Anne (Hines) Barbour on April 5, 1947, at Winnipeg, MB. Her childhood was happily spent with her brothers, Lorne, Stan, and Phillip and her sister, Maxine. Her travels lead her to Manitoba, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, where she eventually made her home.
On September 3, 1988, Linda married Delmar Mattison in Sturgis, SK. She was a happy wife and homemaker. Together, Linda and Delmar shared a love of cats, attending dances, and spending time with good friends.
Linda also had a love for Elvis songs, romance novels, coffee time, as well as a strong faith in God.
She was a loving mother to her daughter, Marnie and son-in-law, Andrew, and a devoted grandmother to her grandkids, Jenna and Jacob.
Her life’s journey eventually placed her in the care of the amazing nurses, staff, and doctors of the Canora Gateway Lodge, where she was lovingly cared for and made many friends.
Linda’s smile, infectious laugh, sense of humour and sweet, tender heart made her a rare and special lady who was loved by so many. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
May your heart and light shine in all who were blessed to know you – daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother – we love you.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and committal will take place at a later date at Canora Cemetery, Canora, SK. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Canora Gateway Lodge Auxiliary, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Linda Mattison.
