LÉVEILLÉ, Léon
1931 – 2022
C’est avec le cœur lourd que la famille vous fait part du décès de Léon Léveillé survenu le 15 mars 2022, à l’âge de 90 ans. Époux de feu Rita, père aimant de Jocelyne (André Bilodeau) et Claire (Dan Morrow). Il fut prédécédé par son fils Jocelyn en 2015. Il laisse dans le deuil ses sœurs Cécile (Rivard) et Florence (Dugas) ainsi que ses frères Antoine et Jean Marc. Il fut prédécédé par ses frères Rosaire, Fernand, Jean Marie, Armand, Florent, Victor, ses sœurs Angèle (Auger) et Thérèse (Gravel). Il ne sera point oublié par Angèle (St-Jean) et ses petits-enfants Marc (Mélanie), Alain (Lisa), Valérie (Keith), Jessica (Charles), Alex (Tithphalkun), Andréa et Ariel, en plus de ses arrière-petits-enfants et de nombreux neveux et nièces qui se souviendront aussi affectueusement de lui.
Notre père faisait partie de la grande famille des Léveillé de la région d’Earlton et travaillait ardemment à n’importe quel ouvrage qu’il entreprenait. Pendant plus de 30 ans, il a consacré de son temps à la charpenterie chez Rivard Bros. Par contre, autant qu’il travaillait fort, il trouvait l’équilibre avec le plein air, la pêche et le camping. Perfectionniste dans tout ce qu’il entreprenait, en particulier ses projets de menuiserie, il surprenait ses proches avec des jouets en bois et des articles ménagers pratiques. Notre père nous a appris à foncer dans la vie et à ne pas avoir peur du travail physique. Il prenait toujours soin de tout le monde autour de lui et était un bon farceur de nature parmi ceux qu’il aimait. On se souviendra de lui pour son sens de l’humour, sa passion de la pêche, ainsi que son pouce vert pour le jardinage avec les plus belles tomates du quartier et ses géraniums rouges. Nous serons bénis de l’avoir comme ange gardien, à veiller et nous protéger pour toujours.

La crémation a eu lieu à la maison funéraire Perrin et une célébration privée de la vie aura lieu à une date ultérieure au cimetière catholique de New Liskeard. It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Léon Léveillé on March 15th, 2022 at the age of 90 years old with his family at his side. Husband of the late Rita, loving father of Jocelyne (André Bilodeau) and Claire (Dan Morrow). Predeceased by his son Jocelyn in 2015. He will also be missed by his surviving sisters Cécile (Rivard) and Florence (Dugas) as well as brothers, Antoine, and Jean Marc. He was predeceased by brothers Rosaire, Fernand, Jean Marie, Armand, Florent, Victor, sisters Angèle (Auger) and Thérèse (Gravel) . He’ll be equally missed by Angèle (St-Jean), his grandchildren, Marc (Mélanie), Alain (Lisa), Valérie (Keith), Jessica (Charles), Alex (Tithphalkun), Andréa and Ariel. He will also affectionately be remembered by his great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Our Dad was part of the large Léveillé family from the Earlton area and worked very hard at whatever job he undertook. He was a longtime carpenter with Rivard Bros and he balanced work and pleasure with outdoor fishing and camping. As a perfectionist with whatever he endeavored, especially with his woodworking projects, he would surprise his close ones with wooden toys and practical household items. Our father taught us to push forward in life and not to be afraid of hard physical work. He always took care of everyone around him and was a good nature prankster among the ones he loved.
He will be remembered for his sense of humour as well as an avid tomato and red geranium gardener. We will be blessed to have him as our forever guardian angel, looking over and always protecting us.

Cremation has taken place at Perrin Funeral Chapel and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date at the New Liskeard Catholic Cemetery.
