CARTER, LeRoy
Passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Listowel Memorial Hospital. LeRoy was a resident of Caressant Care in Listowel and a former longtime resident of RR#1 Newton. LeRoy was born 82 years ago in Mornington Township, a son of the late Harold and Christena (Kuepfer) Carter.
LeRoy was a member of the Morningview Amish Mennonite Church, RR#1 Newton and served as a Deacon for many years. LeRoy spent time as a Director and Secretary of AM Fire and Storm Aid Union. LeRoy operated a dairy farm in Mornington Township and devoted his life to the farm where he still spent his time much after retirement. LeRoy above all loved his family and enjoyed his time spent with them.
Loving father of Ron and wife Sharon, Roger and wife Michelle, Matt and wife Shelly, Linda and husband Fraser Collinson, and Sandra Carter. Devoted grandfather of Mike (Jessica), Steve (Pam), Travis, Kirsten, Jake, Nicholas (Steph), Colton (Ashley), Janessa (Luke), Tayler, Carter, Zack and Hannah. Proud great-grandfather of Jimmy, Annabelle, Simon, Emily, Jacqueline, RyLee, Cullen and Clara. LeRoy is survived by sisters-in-law Catherine Carter, Barb Schmidt and Verna Schmidt and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his beloved wife Clara (Schmidt) Carter (2007), brothers, sister, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; William and Clara Carter, Emmanuel and Laura Carter, Ruth and Ephriam Steckly, Joe Carter, Jake Schmidt, Miriam and Ezra Kuepfer and Jonas Schmidt.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton, on Monday, January 2, 2023, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Morningview Amish Mennonite Church on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Ken Kuepfer officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
