Leona May Lewis 1944 2022 avis de deces

it is with great sadness that the

2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was
the daughter of the late John Edward and Helen Jean (Harnish) Charters
and wife of the late John Harrison Lewis

Leona was not a religious person
but she was Christian in all the ways that mattered – living the
motto ” do unto others as you would have done unto
you”. Leona was always the one helping anyone in need
in any way she could from making her famous doughnuts, milk rolls or
bread to taking her friends to their doctor’s appointments and sitting
with them in the
hospital.
Leona will be lovingly remembered
by her children, Theresa Bird (Douglas), Helen Stewart (Danny),
Darlene Lewis (Jim Aube) and John Lewis Jr.; her sisters Debbie Munn
(late Jim), Mabel Finnie (Mike), brothers Eugene Charters and Mowatt
Charters (Diane); granddaughters Stephanie Swain, Kira Stewart,
Shelley Lewis and Addyson-Ella Lewis, great-granddaughters Jaclyn,
Makenzie and Jasmine Swain, many nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her husband of 35
years and her parents, Leona was predeceased by her brothers Jackie
Charters, Dane Charters, Glendon Charters, Frederick Charters
(Frances); sisters Shirley Charters, Wanda Arseneault, Lena Watson
(Clifford), Frances Boone (Leonard), Rosie Lint (Nelson), Bonnie
Charters, Ramona McIntyre (Louie); brother-in-law Jim
Munn.
Leona was a dental assistant for
the first 20+ years of her working life and then worked the remainder
at Canada Post first has a rural route delivery driver and then as
postal worker sorting mail
inside.
A special thank you to the staff of
the ER in Oromocto Public Hospital, ICU and 4SW at Dr. Everett
Chalmers Regional Hospital for looking after Leona the last two weeks
and making her as comfortable as
possible.
There will a visitation at Bishop’s
Funeral Home in Fredericton on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 2 to
5. At Leona’s request, there will be no formal funeral
service. Interment will take place at a later date at the
New Maryland United Church
Cemetery.
Donations in Leona’s memory can be
made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Nashwaak Villa Foundation or a
charity of the donor’s
Choice.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Leona May Lewis 1944 2022..
