À la mémoire de
Lee Ann (nee Sembay) Lizon
12 août 1964 –
22 mars 2022
It is with profound sadness and grieving hearts that we share the far too early passing of Lee Ann Lizon on March 22, 2022, with her family by her side. Lee Ann was born on August 12, 1964, to Jaroslaw “Jerry” and Leona, in Niagara Falls, Ontario. She was the youngest of four children. Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Lee Ann is survived by her husband, Mike, son Chris (Jennifer), daughter Amanda (Jeff), and grandchildren, Graham and Alice. And of course, her “grand dogs,” Oscar and Millie.
Lee Ann was raised in the Ukrainian Church. As a child, she attended Ukrainian school on the weekends and later attended The Bishop Strachan School in Toronto. She went on to complete her degree from York University. Lee Ann met Mike when they were in their late teenage years. They married on July 5, 1986, at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Mississauga and went on to have their two children. Chris and Amanda fondly remember the years Lee Ann spent at home with them while she took care of friends’ children, too. She later began working at RYCOM, where she worked for 24 years. Her colleagues at RYCOM became a second family to her.
In the summer, everyone knows if you were looking for Lee Ann, you would find her at her favourite place in the world, the houseboat in Port Severn. She loved relaxing by the lake, swimming, enjoying the sunshine, and spending quality time with her family. In the winter, Lee Ann looked forward to getaways to various beaches with Mike. Lee Ann loved her family and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. When not with her family, Mike and Lee Ann spent lots of time with their many close friends. Her friends and family would say she had the kindest heart, the brightest smile, and would do anything for the people she loved.
Lee Ann will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her memory will live on in her husband, children, grandchildren, and all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lung Cancer Canada.
As per Lee Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a visitation for family and friends will take place at Turner & Porter Funeral Home – Neweduk Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West Mississauga, on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 2 pm-4 pm and 6 pm-8 pm.
