LAWRENCE J. ROY
December 3, 1937 – March 20, 2022
Peacefully, on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre, Lawrence Roy, aged 84 years passed away.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Violet; sons, Darrell, Farrell (Chery) and Derrick; grandsons, Russell and Austin; sister Mildred (Walter) Wall; as well as many nieces, nephews and relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, Sigurdur and Vera; and his brother and sister-in-law Doug and Pollyanne Roy.
Lawrence loved country music and listened to gospel tunes on Sunday morning on the Portage station. He thought highly of his co-workers at the Manitoba Rolling Mills where he worked for 40 years retiring in 2002.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff on the Medical ward and Palliative care unit at the Selkirk Hospital that looked after Lawrence the last 4 weeks.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held in summer at the St. Clement’s Cemetery.
