Obituary
Our beautiful Mom. Laura Lea Campbell (nee Worrall) passed into heaven July 5th surrounded by her family after a brief battle with leukemia. Laura had beaten leukemia and was in remission, in the final stages of treatment. Unfortunately, Laura suffered a stroke related to her chemo treatment that ended her life too soon as a young 54 year old.
Laura was born in St. Catherines, Ontario on November 27, 1967 to Marilyn Worrall (nee Hiscott) and Keith Worrall. Laura was her parents first born and the sister to Christine Goard (nee Worrall) (Jason) and Stephen Worrall (Baihua).
Laura spent her childhood in Niagara-On-the-Lake where she was a very proud daughter of a chicken farmer (Parkway Farms). In her teenage years, her family moved to a home on the Parkway. Growing up as a proud Niagara girl, Laura loved to play sports and compete. She did swimming, volleyball and track and field, specifically high jump, winning many first-place ribbons.
Laura would attend the University of Guelph and study psychology. Laura would later attend Canisius College in Buffalo, NY where she graduated with a Teaching Degree and after, Masters in Teaching and Early Childhood Education.
Laura also traveled a lot before, during and after university. She backpacked with her sister Christine for a month throughout Europe. They went to England, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Northern Italy, France and Monaco. After University, Laura and her lifelong friend Linda Walterhouse would backpack to Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand and Australia. She loved sharing her backpacking stories to her family years later where she shared her crazy adventures- bungee jumping, scuba diving, jet boating and much more.
Laura would begin her teaching career at Flemington Public School in North York and later move to David Hornell Junior School in Etobicoke for the remainder of her career. Laura impacted so many students lives, was a favorite teacher of her students and enjoyed working beside many different co-workers and great friends over the years.
Laura would soon meet her now husband Duncan Campbell, fall in love and they would get married July 18, 1998. Laura and Duncan briefly lived in Toronto and would eventually settle in Oakville.
Laura and Duncan would soon start having children, Jorden, Adam and Taylor. She enjoyed many things in her life, but her favorite was being the best mom. She loved spending time as a family, traveling, watching the kids play soccer and hockey games, dance recitals and videotaping every moment of every occasion including, sending the family videos of Hazel as a very proud dog mom.
Family was everything to Laura. She always made it important for the family to be with their grandparents, nieces and nephews (Emilie, Ryan, Kevin, Patrick and Charlie). She was also very close to her in-laws Ann and Stuart. Laura loved hosting family holidays and going all out, making sure everyone was thought of. Decorating the house for birthdays with balloons everywhere was a must for Laura, it made everyone feel so special.
Laura had an appetite for life (and food) and always went 100% in everything Laura did. Holding back wasn’t in her vocabulary and she always made sure her children knew how proud of them she was. Laura was the most beautiful human being and anybody who was lucky enough to experience Laura, will forever be impacted by her.
Laura will be laid to rest in the Burlington Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Laura’s name can be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society . We want to thank the Doctors, Nurses and caregiver who attended to Laura during her treatments at Juravinski Hospital.
Mommy, you are with us forever and always and we love you forever and always.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Laura Lea Campbell November 27 1967 July 5 2022..
