Laura Jean Cox Majors McCarter -age 62, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday April 23, 2022. She attended Thorngrove Baptist Church. She was also a retired Food Service Manager of Knox County Schools after serving since 1988.
Preceded in death by husband, Bill Majors; father, Bert Cox; sister, Beverly Roberts; brother-in-law, Brian Harrell.
Survived by husband, Wayne McCarter; son, John Majors; daughter, Nikki Majors (Mike); grandchildren, Harlow and Huxley Chaney; mother, Wanda Cox; brothers, Donnie (Teresa) Cox, Albert (Sandy) Cox; sisters, Teresa Maples, Cheryl (Chris) Satterfield, Cathy Harrell, Bec Miller; step-sons, Todd McCarter, and Tim McCarter. Special thanks to Emily, Claire, and Gabe.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Bridges Funeral Home, followed by services at 7:00 PM with Rev. Brandon Blair officiating. Family and friends will meet at Eastview Memorial Gardens at 10:45 AM, Wednesday, April 27, 2022 for a 11:00 AM interment. Arrangements by Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
