Bob is also survived by his sister-in-law Dolores Nolan McIntyre (d John), many nieces and nephews who loved and admired their “Uncle Bob”, Marlene Perks loving partner to his late son Bobby, his dear cousins Elise Godbout Larouche (d Roger) and Fernand Godbout (Micheline).
Predeceased by his parents Anne-Marie Brassard and Robert Urquhart Lamb and his brother Drummond Lamb (Jasmine Gosselin).
Bob was born in Senneterre, Quebec and lived his early years in Verdun. Attending St.Willibrord High, he graduated as class valedictorian and excelled at basketball, playing for his school and also the YMCA in Verdun. He was a sports enthusiast with a passion for hockey and was a great fan of the Montreal Canadiens. An avid reader, he always had a good book at hand. Bob loved a good conversation with his family and friends. Who can forget his amazing smile?
Bob started his successful career of fifty years in the manufacturing industry at Welland Vale Ltd., in Montreal, Quebec. From there he worked in Ontario for the Jones Shovel Company in Gananoque then Welland Vale Ltd., in St. Catharines. Bob followed these postings with a career as general manager of Welland Vale Ltd. (rail anchor division) which later became Portec in St.Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
Bob’s leadership and hard work produced high quality products for the railroads. He worked in this capacity for thirty years before retiring in 1996.
Foremost Bob was a loving husband and family man. He had a special and unique relationship with his children and grandchildren. Bob’s passing leaves a tremendous void in our lives but also leaves us with a lifetime of memories of his love, laughter and wisdom to help us move forward in his footsteps.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to his cardiologist Dr. George Honos (CHUM), Dr. Gary Inglis, Dr. Ngoc Huy Nguyen, the amazing nurses at the CLSC Vaudreuil-Dorion, Dr. Genevieve Chaput and her team at the Palliative Care Residence in Hudson.
If you wish, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice in Bob’s memory.
Plans for Bob’s Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
