Obituary
Laird MacDonald of Circle Drive Special Care Home in Saskatoon, passed away peacefully October 21, 2022 at the age of 93.
Laird was born April 7,1929 in Hazel Dell Saskatchewan to Dan and Maggie MacDonald
He married Teena Malyk in August of 1952.
Laird worked a short time in road construction and then moved on to work for the Saskatchewan Timber Board for many years. After a couple of serious injuries he found employment with the Preeceville Union Hospital as a maintenance man until his retirement in 1990.
Laird’s hobbies included working in his shop tinkering on small appliances, lawnmowers or anything that needed to be fixed. He enjoyed watching TV, doing his velvet artwork and eating at Red Lobster and A&W. Laird’s love of country and old time music took him to many music festivals and he was lucky enough to meet one of his country favourites – Charley Pride.
Laird is predeceased by his wife, parents, six brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by his two daughters: Marla, grandson Derek (Jan), grandson Bruce (Amanda) and great-granddaughters Ella and Bryn; Bev (David) and granddaughter Mallory (Jesse); and one sister, Ruby. As well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A private Celebration of Laird’s life will be held at a later date.
