Albert Bridge
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Kenny Lahey, age 58, on Friday, January 28, 2022, at home with his beloved Jackie by his side.
Born on April 11, 1963, and raised in Main-A-Dieu, Kenny was the son of Evangeline (Bourinot) and the late Maurice Lahey.
Kenny was employed for many years in the fish plant industry until he took ill. He enjoyed sitting around the “discovery table” at the Albert Bridge Fire Hall belting out tunes, which he loved to do. He could also be found in his garage treating his friends to his favorite boiled dinner and a few sociable with his furbaby, Molly by his side.
Kenny will always be remembered for his nonstop tormenting and laughs which rightfully earned him his nickname ‘The MIMIC’.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Kennedy; son, Kenneth Pellerin; daughter, Natasha Arsenault (Ferris), Halifax; step-children, Gary (Jennifer) Cook and Jennifer Cook, both in Albert Bridge; mother, Evangeline ‘Vangie’ Lahey; brothers, Wayne (Doreen), Maurice (Florence), Lawrence (Aileen), Kevin, Basil (Karen), Darren and grandchildren, Summer, Jaxxon, Phoenix, Aliya, and Cara; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Kenny was predeceased by his father Maurice; brothers, Tom and Billy; sisters, Diane and son-in-law, T.A. Arsenault.
The family would like to thank Dr. Myatt, Dr. Hewlett, nurse, Clara Penny, the wonderful staff at the renal clinic, as well as the VON for their ongoing support for Kenny over the last number of years.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Kenny Lahey will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.) Whitney Pier on Thursday, February 3, 2022. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
