LAFABIANA, Barbara “Joan”
Peacefully at Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 in her 87th year, with her children by her side. Born in Oshawa to the late Vera and Raymond Pettitt. Loving wife of 50 years to her late husband Leonardo. Devoted and caring mother of Elisabeth and her husband Shawn of Tennessee and Mike and his wife Karen of Oshawa. Adored Grandma to Téa and Keira. Cherished Aunt of Grace Dasberg. Dearest friend to Kathy Ranstead and the late Marjorie Diskey. Sister of Sandra Large, Gary Pettitt and the late Don, Keith and James Pettitt. A special thanks to her dear friend and caregiver Ruby Rose Olay. Her love and kindness towards Joan and the family will never be forgotten. Thank you to the staff of Hillsdale Estates for their care and compassion. Joan will be remembered for her smile ad exuberant laugh by all who have met her. A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Joan to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
