It is with broken hearts we announce the
passing of Keri Ann Jewkes-Scott, Amherst
Nova Scotia, formally of Springhill, after a brave battle with
pancreatic cancer.
Keri was raised in Springhill where she
completed High School in 1996. Keri went on to study Continuing Care
at the Nova Scotia Community College and began a career in this field
which spanned over 25 years. Keri was proud of the service she
provided to her clients and the relationships she built with her
clients and colleauges during this time.
Keri was very protective of her family
and friends, and whenever anyone was in need, Keri would be there to
help them in any way she possibly could. Keri loved spending time at
home with her children and grandchildren, being the voice of reason
when things got tough, and giving advise to help raise her
grandchildren, whom she adored.
The year prior to Keri getting sick, she
selflessly took time away from work and herself to care for her father
Hugh. Keri and Hugh had a very special father-daughter bond, and often
laughed over how Keri would give her parents a “Run for their
money,” when she was growing up. Keri was with him everyday up
until the very end never leaving the side of her Dad. We find peace
knowing she reunited with her parents once again.
This passed summer, Keri married her
partner of over 30 years, Tony, during a ceremony on the shores of the
Northumberland Strait, the same shores where she and her family made
many memories growing up and spent many summer days with her
children.
Keri was overwhelming touched by the
support of her friends, family, and community after her diagnoses. To
say that people came together in her time of need would be an
understatement, and her family is forever
grateful.
Keri is survived by her husband Tony,
daughters Emily, and Riley, son Dylan, grandchildren Liam and Isla,
Brother Jason (Marie) Jewkes, niece Quinn, nephew Emmett, aunt, uncles
many cousins and extended family.
Predeceased by her Mother Barbara
(Hatton), father Hugh, maternal and paternal grandparents.
Keri’s memory will live
forever in our hearts.
Arrangements have been entrusted into
the care and guidance of Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777) where
a private family gathering will take place.
Donations in memory of Keri may be made
to a charity of choice.
