Kenneth “Pete Ebel 2022

Kenneth “Pete” Ebel (b. 1931) passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Betty Ebel (d. 2016); loving father of Mark (Michele) of London, and Neal (Joan) of Stratford. Treasured grandfather of Lisa Phillips, Ryan Mullin, Nicole Ebel, Matthew Ebel and Natalie Ebel. Much-loved great-grandfather of Carter, Chloe, Raelynn and Joelle. As a life-long resident of Stratford, Pete spent his entire career at Kroehler Furniture, starting at age 14 and working there until the factory closed its doors. A talented young athlete, Pete played competitive men’s fastball for many years, and went on to enjoy his decades-long role as a plate umpire in ball games throughout Southwestern Ontario. He was a proud member of the Masons (St. James Lodge #73 in St. Mary’s ON) and of the Mocha Shriners Road Runner Unit. Pete’s unfailing kindness and his genuine love of life will forever stand as a beautiful example to all who knew him. Cremation has taken place, and a private Celebration of Life will follow. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Shriners Children’s Hospital (Montreal) through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
