Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness the family announces the passing of Kenneth Lewis Garland which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, March 14th, 2022. Born November 9th, 1943, in Saint John, he is the son of the late Harold and Marion (Bishop) Garland. Ken worked as a pipefitter with Local 213 for many years. He was a strong union member with a great sense of humour. He loved watching westerns, over and over again. Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his dog PJ.
Ken is survived by his children Dana Garland (Heidi) of Rothesay, Kim Garland (Donna) of Saint John, Kellie Garland (Charlie) of Saint John, Michael Garland (Andrea) of Saint John; brother Ronnie Garland (Flo) of Saint John; sister Audrey James of Saint John; grandchildren Brandon, Shawn, Jeremy, Tatyana, Trevor, Courtney and Kamden; 8 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Ken was predeceased by his loving wife Starlene, son Glen, daughter Theresa, brothers Dougie and Harold and sisters Barb and Norma.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, March 18th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, March 19th at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Ken may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
