Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Kelly Robert Silliphant announces his peaceful passing at the age of 64, after a valiant battle with cancer, on Friday March 4, 2022 in Huntsville, Ontario. Kelly was a kind and beautiful soul and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 26 years, Zalina, who was by his side and cared for him until the end, his daughters Kaila (Josh), Kara, Natalie, Hillary, Jennifer (Moe) and Alicia, his daughter in law Vanda, his beautiful grandchildren, his uncle Jack and many beloved family members and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Joan and Gregory, his grandparents Ewalt and Eleanor and his son Anthony.
Kelly was born on May 31, 1957 in Pembroke, Ontario to Joan and Gregory (Sully) Silliphant. He was strong, driven and determined to overcome adversity to pursue his passions. When Kelly was young, he loved spending time at the Hunt Camp with his grandfather and Uncle. Intuitive and intelligent, he became the student body president of his high school. In his spare time, he enjoyed hanging out with the boys at Herb’s. As Kelly grew older, he loved spending time at his mother’s cottage on Round Lake in Bonnechere, Ontario with friends and family but his true passion was coaching hockey in Pembroke, Ontario where he excelled as a coach and leader and earned many awards for his hard work.
As an avid fisherman, golf enthusiast and hockey fan, Kelly chose Huntsville, Ontario as his forever home. It was in Huntsville that he thrived as the production manager at Hidden Hitch Cequent Towing and built a wonderful life with his wife Zalina, where they raised their children to love nature and embrace the outdoors. Kelly was an amazing son, husband, father, and friend whose legacy will leave an indelible imprint on everyone whose life he touched.
Thank you to the entire medical team who helped care for Kelly and keep him with us for as long as we had him. We are grateful for your time, energy and compassion. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, sent thoughts and prayers, and offered condolences.
To have loved him was an honour. To have been granted time to create memories with him was priceless but to grieve him will be a lifelong pain that will never fade away! Kelly and the love we have for him will forever live on in our hearts.
There will be a celebration of life held at a later date at the family home with details to follow.
