Keith Swantee 1939 2022

SWANTEE, J. Keith
Sundridge
It is with a sorrowful heart that we announce the passing of our husband, father, and grandfather, James Keith Swantee on May 5th 2022, at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born on November 4, 1939, in Sundridge he was a son of the late Frank and Daisy (Thompson). Keith was an autobody mechanic for 40 years, several of those were from his own garage where he gave everyone stellar service, sharp wit and a no-nonsense attitude. His true passion, however, was his farm and his love of the land. He loved the early mornings, working the earth and taking care of his cattle. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was obvious in every big hug and smile. Keith is survived by wife, Mary Lou (Kerr) of Sundridge; his daughter, Kim (Jim) of Seabright, and their children, Nick, Raegan, and Connor; his son, Sandy (Barb) of Windsor Junction, and his children, Rhyan and Mason; stepdaughter, Catherine (Dwayne) of Caribou River, and their son, Matthew; stepson, Thomas (Renee) of Sparwood, BC, and their children, Steven and Ian; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his best friend, “Other Keith” Sutherland. Keith was predeceased by his brothers, Murray and Richard; and his grandson, Nicholas Falconer. He was the last remaining member of his family. There will be a service at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou on May 10th at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow at the Stella Maris Catholic Church Hall. Special thanks to the Scotsburn Volunteer Fire Department, EHS and Aberdeen Emergency Staff for all their help and care. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Pictou County VON or charity of choice. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
