Keith Gerard LeMay Sunday April 24th 2022 avis de deces

With gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Keith LeMay announce his passing, in the arms of his loving wife, at the Village of Tansley Woods on Sunday, April 24, 2022, in his 84th year. Keith is finally at peace following a difficult but courageous battle with complications from a rare neurological disease. True to his nature, he faced each day without complaint. Keith will be forever missed by the love of his life, Margaret (nee Porter), his wife of 62 years. Cherished father to Jay (Nancy) and Lisa (Alan) Geyer. Will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Zachary (Elizabeth), Austin (Kayla), Julia, Chase, and Clay. Loving and devoted brother of Carole Leacock. Predeceased by his parents Gerard and Irene (nee McGee). Keith will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. Keith was born in Hamilton and moved with his young family to Burlington in 1963. He became a volunteer firefighter in the days before there was a permanent force. He served honourably for 34 years, ending his career as Chief of Station 4 volunteer firefighters. He was awarded the Governor General Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal in 1988. He had a successful career at Procter and Gamble for 32 years as a Production Manager, and as the company fire chief. Keith was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. He was their steadfast supporter and number one fan as they pursued their passions. Keith had many interests throughout his life, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, baseball, and golf. He loved his yearly fishing and golf getaways with his close group of friends and could be found at QBs Pub most Friday nights and Saturday afternoons enjoying a pint with the same group of friends. He was also a member of the Burlington Curling Club where he served on the Board. Of all his passions, the one closest to his heart was his cottage at Sauble Beach, his pride and second home for 75 years. Here he was surrounded by close family and friends and enjoyed idyllic summers, boating, fishing, and happy hours on the deck. A winter highlight for Keith and Marg was their annual trip to Florida, where Keith could be spotted poolside with a margarita in hand. Sincere gratitude to the staff of Tansley Woods LTC, especially Andrew and Hartley for their sense of humour, affection, and compassion toward Keith. A heartfelt thank you to niece Shannon for her exceptional care and commitment to Uncle Keith. She made him feel special and cared for and could always bring a smile to his face. As per Keith’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Keith’s honour to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Keith, you will always be the wind beneath my wings, fly high.
