Kathleen Marie Flynn
June 27, 1953 – November 16, 2022
It is with tremendous sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, adoring wife, loving grand mother, and excellent friend, Kathy Flynn.
Kathy passed away on the morning of Wednesday November 16th, 2022, at her home in Drayton Valley, Alberta with her husband Scott by her side. The Flynn family will be holding a celebration of life event to honor Kathy’s memory in the spring time.
Kathy will be remembered fondly and forever missed by her family and friends. News of her passing has come as a shock but she will be remembered as an incredibly caring, patient, supportive, and loving mom and grandma.
Kathy was born in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan, as the eldest child to her parents Helen and Tony Orschy. She had two brothers, Jim and Donny, and her sister Judy. Kathy married Scott Flynn on August 14, 1976 and they raised a family of three boys, David, Nathan, and Tyson. She became a loving grandmother to three grandchildren, Tavian, Carter, and Mekhi. Kathy worked for over 40 years providing legal administrative support in a variety of law offices and owned her own business, D.V. Legal Services, providing legal support in Drayton Valley.
Kathy was an advent reader and was always happy to share a book recommendation. She loved to sing songs, especially off tune. She spent a lot of time lovingly nurturing her garden. In her spare time, she loved to make quilts for her loved ones. She was an incredible cook and was happiest when family and friends were around for a visit.
The Flynn family would like to extent our heartfelt thanks for all of the support we have received during this challenging time. We truly appreciate all of the food, messages, flowers, and cards.
For those that would like to make a donation, memorial contributions can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke foundation or the Alberta Diabetes Foundation in Kathy’s name.
We will forever miss and love Kathy. She made everything better through her kindness and loving grace.
