ALLAN, Karin Leigh (nee Gordon) – died of cancer December 16, 2021. Born in 1943 in the Maritimes (wanting to be an Islander) as her father’s family Gordon/Muttart from up west; mother’s family Aitken’s from Lower Montague. After graduating Karin worked for Bell Tel until she met and married Roger in 1965; Due to her husband’s promotions, they moved 10 times in 9 years. First daughter born in Winnipeg, MN; Second daughter was born in Kitchener, ON. Roger, a VP of CIBC, they settled in Erin Mills, Mississauga for 30 years. Karin managed a branch office of Canadian Forestry; then assistant to the President/ & Head of HR of Poppa Corn. Both retired, built a house in Cobourg 1996. Karin served as president of Cobourg Probus Club in 2017, her passions were her ancestors, playing canasta/dominoes; even managed to write a couple of books, she loved volunteering at Northumberland Hills Hospital. Karin is survived by her husband Roger, elder daughter Krista (Mark) granddaughter Cassandra (Matt) and great-grandson Maverick; grandson Colin (Liesle), 2nd daughter Megan (Rob), grandson Connor and grand- daughter’s Lauren and Emily all of ON. A Celebration of Life for Karin will be held in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre on Saturday June 25, 2022 from 2 to 4 pm.. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Northumberland Hills Hospital – Palliative Care unit.
