Obituary of Karen White
WHITE: Karen “Kari” Elizabeth (Ellis) –
A resident of Chatham, Kari White passed away unexpectedly with family at her side on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the age of 52.
Born June 6, 1970 in Kitchener, Kari White was the daughter of Mary Lou Ellis (nee Day).
Kari was the beloved wife of 30 years to Ed White and
‘Mama Grizzly’ to Meghan Newton (Tyler) and Erin White (Mike Pearson).
She was like he proud and loving Nana to Rachel and Colson; and fur baby Holly.
Cherished sister of Leanne Ellis and Trisha Duggan (Richard) , and loved Sister-in-law to Donald White and Susan White (Tanya Sales)
Kari will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Kari’s devotion to Meghan and Erin was witnessed by her cheering from the sidelines at all their soccer and curling events. She never backed down from a challenge and was always there no-matter-what, for her family and friends. If Kari loved you, you knew it.
Kari’s infectious laugh, quick wit and sarcastic sense of humour have given us many cherished memories. She enjoyed baking and cooking for the people she loved. Her Shortbread and Santa Claus cookies are legendary. Kari enjoyed weekends away with cherished friends, and vacationing in Cuba.
Kari was dedicated to provided exceptional care for the residents of Long-term care in Chatham-Kent. She started her career at Residence on the Thames, and moved up to management positions at St Andrew’s and most recently Riverview Gardens.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 6:00 – 9:00pm. A Celebration of Kari’s Life will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
As per Kari’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
