Ms. Kara-Lynn Pushie, age 30 years, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 in Dryden, Ontario.
Kara-Lynn was born in Thunder Bay on January 4, 1992. She attended Heath Park School and Westgate High School, and later Everest College where she successfully completed the curriculum for a PSW and was awarded a diploma with honours in May 2013. Growing up with her older sister and best friend, Mandy, whom she adored, Kara-Lynn was a true Daddy’s Girl, his “Pookie Bear” and best buddy. She enjoyed bike riding, going to the park, swimming and camping, making peroghy’s with Nannie Joyce, movie nights and spending time with family at holiday gatherings and Sunday dinners. She loved music and had a passion for dogs, especially Patch. Kara was a loyal, loving and truly happy person – she was always smiling and laughing with those around her. Kara looked for the good in people and had a bright spirit. Kara loved her children Casey and London and was a very caring mother.
Kara-Lynn will be deeply missed by her son Casey Niemi (and his father Boiyce); daughter London (and her father Kevin Engel); father Glenn Simpson and step-mom Maggie; siblings Jasmine (Devin) Welsh, Emmalyn Heerema (Joel Acourt) and Kevin Heerema (Fiona Murphy) as well as her grandparents Gordon and Joyce Simpson, grandfather Jack Pushie (Ann Bobyk) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
She was predeceased by her mother Jacqueline Pushie, sister Amanada Sheldrake and her grandmother Margo (Glen) Adduono.
A private family service was held in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Kara-Lynn has been laid to rest with her Mom and sister in Riverside Cemetery.
Should family and friends so desire, donations may be made in her memory to Team DEK or the Crossroads Centre and would be greatly appreciated.
