On Saturday, August 20th, 2022, Junne Darlene Schneider (nee Wiechers), passed away peacefully with her loving husband, Donald by her side. Junne was in her 89th year.
Raised in Hespeler by her parents, Paul, and Susan Wiechers (predeceased) Junne had great fun growing up with her three sisters, Elaine Strack, Lois Rabe, (both predeceased), and her youngest sister, Gail Wendt. The four sisters often went on shopping trips, gathered as a family, or met for weekly coffee dates, remaining close to one another throughout their lives.
When Junne met her husband, Donald Schneider, in 1953, it was instant love. Together for 69 years, they created a beautiful life for their four children, Jack Schneider (Nancy), Joel Schneider (Susan), Jayne Schneider and Jennifer Moran (Rod). She dedicated her life to caring for her husband and children and raised her children to be hard working, loving and caring adults. Once the first of her ten grandchildren began to arrive, Junne devoted herself to them. Often taking them on outings or visits at Nana’s and always enjoying and laughing at her grandkid’s funny moments throughout the years. As she watched her grandchildren grow-up throughout the years, she was further blessed with six great grandchildren, all whom she loved very much.
Junne enjoyed life, not only because of the joys her life brought her, but because of the good life she shared with her husband, Don. She would go on annual trips to South Carolina with her husband where they would be joined by their many lifelong friends. While the men were golfing, the women would go shopping, happily spending their husband’s money. So many good times and great memories were created and shared for so many years.
Junne experienced great sadness when her eldest daughter, Jayne Schneider, suddenly passed away at 51 years of age. With great strength, she was able to quietly carry on with a loving heart throughout the remaining years of her life.
Junne was an avid reader, enjoying newspapers and magazines. One of her favourite magazines was ‘Hello’, where she could follow the lives of the monarchy, expressing her views on royal life and current news to anyone who would listen. She had the best laugh and those who heard it were truly lucky and couldn’t help but join in.
Ready to offer wise advice, love, support, or an ear to listen, she would hold those who misbehaved to account always with a forgiving heart. No one could have so generously loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as Junne did.
Being a quiet and private woman, Junne did not wish for any visitation or service upon her passing. Condolences may be made to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Junne’s name through Lounsbury Funeral Home.
