June Marie Rice
June 13, 1944 – April 6, 2022
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of June Rice (nee Byrne) surrounded by her loving family April 6, 2022, at age 77. Predeceased by her parents; Thomas & Mary; in-laws Arthur & Martina, sisters in law; Josephine, Jean; brothers in law; Edward and Gerald. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her devoted husband of 57 years Arthur, her wonderful sons Edward (Susan), Dwayne (Jackie) and Artie (Michele). Her pride and joy, her 5 grandchildren; Justin (Melanie), Danielle (Kyle), Tyler (Haley), Patrick & Kyle. As well as her 2 precious great-grandchildren Addison & Scarlett. Her brother Thomas (Cheryl), sister Sandra (Dave); sisters in-law: Barb (Don) and Eleanor; and brother in-law, Ken; as well as her nieces and nephews; Michelle, Natasha, Jennifer, Adam, Leigh-Ann, Tracy, Jacqueline, Dana, Martina, Kelly and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Mom, your first reaction would be she is the most thoughtful, genuine, kindest soul you would ever meet. Mom had a heart of gold and would give up anything and everything for the ones she loved. As a family, we always said as long as Mom was around you would never go hungry and you would never go thirsty. Mom loved to maintain an active social life, if the car was moving, she was in it. She also dearly loved playing cards. If she bid for poker, you knew she had a royal flush, not just 1 pair and there was no hiding that she was holding the Ace of Hearts in 120s. Her Thursday night card buddies, Agnes, Dot, Jeannie and June H will miss her dearly.
We have so many wonderful memories that we will hold in our hearts forever.
Cremation has taken place. A private visitation for family will be held at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, St. John’s, NL. Contacts will be made to attend. Funeral service will take place on April 9, 2022 at Mary Queen of the World, at 1:00 p.m. The service will also be for family, however if you wish to attend virtually, please follow the link: tom0349.wixsite.com/streamingservices/cauls. Respectfully the family asks that you continue to follow Covid protocols (ie: Wear your mask and maintain physical distancing) throughout the visitation and Funeral Mass. Inurmment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
