With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Joy on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 71 years of age. Adored wife of Claudio for almost 50 years. Best Mom to her sons, Brian (Cristina) and Steve (Tracy). She leaves behind her greatest treasures, her grandchildren, Niki, Tristen (Jason), Pellar, Kendal, Julia and Stella. Dearest sister of Sue Fielding (Steve), Karen Benoit, Brad Benoit, Kim Fox (Mike) and sister-in-law of Laura McKenzie (Jim). Predeceased by her parents, Joyce, Harry (Isabel), and her in-laws Domenic and Rosina Del Col. Aunt Joy will also be remembered by her many nieces and nephews. As a teacher, she was respected and adored by her many students and colleagues at Es District High School. She was generous and selfless and will be remembered for her hospitality and welcoming smile, being sadly missed by all that knew her. She valued her family most, and wanted nothing but the best for all of them. In following Joy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visiting will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 2-4 and 5-7 at Reid Funeral Home, 87 Maidstone Ave. E., Es (519-776-4233). There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Family and friends are invited to share their memories online at www.reidfuneralhome.ca
