ROSE- Joyce Sandra (nee Pearce) passed away at home with courage and dignity, while surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Joyce is survived by her loving and dedicated children Bryan of St. Thomas, Sarah (Chuck) Gunter and their girls Brooke and Maddyn of Welland, and Josh (Kylee Heathers) of Fingal; by her siblings Grace (Edward) Ford, Bonnie (Derek) McNulty, Leslie (Wesley) Tucker; by her brother-in-law Murray Brown; by her four-legged companion Miley; and by her many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. Predeceased by her sister Elaine Brown and her brother William Pearce. Joyce was born on February 15, 1950 to the late John and Marion Pearce. She began her career as a teacher teaching in New Sarum, teaching for over 35 years. Joyce was very active in her community. She was involved with the St. Thomas Soccer Club for over 25 years where she cared for every kid that played. She was also dedicated to the St Thomas Ringette Association. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 11:00 am. A private family interment will follow in St. Peter’s Anglican Church Cemetery.
