Josephine’s Obituary
Lewis, Josephine Marie – 80, of Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Comeauville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rita (Romain) Melanson. As a French Acadian, Josephine loved cooking – especially rapie pie. She especially loved when she could feed others. She dedicated many years to the foodbank in Kingston and the friendly neighbor’s organization. She worked heavily at making sure people in the area had food to eat. Jo enjoyed playing bingo, crib, queen of spades, and really anything that brought her together with her family and friends. Jo was a fan of both Elvis and Princess Di. She loved having sleepovers and spoiling her grandkids. Surviving are her sons, Keenan Lewis (Kimberly Leslie), Greenwood; Darren (Jennifer) Lewis, Whitby Island, Washington; and Stephen (Kseniya) Lewis, Madison, New Jersey; grandchildren Abby, Justin, and Sophia; sisters Delima Theriault, Belliveau Cove; Marie Melanson, Meteghan; Agnes (Donald) Thimot, Meteghan River; brother, Camille Melanson, McAdam, NB; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charles and siblings Adolphe, Henry, James, Augustin, Nicholas, Azelle, Lorette, Bernard, Edward, Anita, May, Angelina, Hector. There will be a service to celebrate Josephine’s life at a later date. Interment will be in Tremont Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, 1-855-825-3448. Online guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
