Josephine F. “Josie” Justason
1939-2022
Josephine F. “Josie” Justason passed away
peacefully on March 24, 2022 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville at
the age of 82, with the love of her life for 64 years, Paul, by her
side. Born in Lakeville on July 14, 1939 to the late Fred and Margaret
(Greene) Johnstone.
Josie had been employed with M.W. Graves, retiring with 36
years of service. Love for her family was always her main priority and
she enjoyed unexpected visits from nieces and nephews (who would stop
by out of the blue). Her week would start with the usual Monday night
visit with Patti and the neighbours. She especially loved daily coffee
time and a game of crib with Paul. She was a member of the Meadowview
Development Association for many years and was always willing to lend
a hand when Joe would call, especially with cooking and
baking.
In addition to her husband Paul, she is survived by four
daughters, Deborah (Paul) Graves, Canning; Wendy Justason (Glenn),
Kentville; Grace (Chuck) LeBlanc, South Alton; and Jennifer Dunn, at
home; two sisters, Ester Cameron, Caledon, East Ontario and Jean
(Everett) Bond, Lakeville; sister-in-law, Phyllis Thorn, Saint John,
New Brunswick; special granddaughter, Patricia Justason, Kentville;
seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three great
great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased
by her son, Arnold (2017); six sisters, Ada Johnstone, Cora Wile,
Helen Coleman, Lila McRae, Bernice Dominey and Rhoda Johnstone; and
four brothers, Grant, Richard, Thomas and Daniel.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by
request. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday,
April 4, 2022 in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, Kings County.
Reverend Thelma MacDonald officiating. No flowers by request of the
family. Donations in memory may be made to the Meadowview Development
Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White
