Passed away peacefully at Pt. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavillon in his eighty second year.
Predeceased by his parents John and Gertrude Foley, sisters Marie (Gus) Daly, Beth (Pat) Kelly and brother Jim, parents in law John Louis and Annie Kelly.
Left to mourn his loving wife of fifty-five years, Bonnie, his sons John (Ann), Glen (Christa) and Brendan (Anny). Precious Grandchildren Paige, Laurel, Julia, Dylan and Sarah, brother Tom (Betty) and sister Olivera; brother-in-law Tom (Olive) and sister-in-law Lavinia; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Joe’s love of flying led him to a lifetime career and the enjoyment of fishing the many waters of Newfoundland and Labrador. His happy place was with his family at his cabin on Boomsiding. He enjoyed nothing more than being with his friends there and their many games of cards.
We would like to thank the amazing staff at Pte Joseph Squibb Memorial Pavilion for their excellent care given with compassion and love. We will always remember them.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held at Mary Queen of the World Church, Topsail Road, on Saturday, August 27, at 10:30am, with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Donations can be made to Newfoundland and Labrador Alzheimer’s society or the charity of one’s choice.
