It is with great sadness that we the family of Joseph “Joey” Murray announce the passing of our dear brother, uncle and nephew. Joey passed away suddenly at home on August 15th, 2022.
Joey enjoyed his years working at Calder’s Garage, Bucky’s Garage and the NSLC. He was always ready with a story or tale to tell.
Joey always had his guitar ready for any event , whether it be kitchen parties, bon fires or garage sing alongs. You could always count on him to play for benefits held in his community. In return the community showed their appreciation to him when his guitar was stolen. A surprise benefit was quickly organized and he was presented with a new guitar.
Joey also loved his little piece of paradise on “the hill” in French Cove. Due to health issues Joey chose to move to the apartments in River Bourgeois.
Joey enjoyed being surrounded by nature and going for daily strolls with his beautiful walking stick. He always greeted you with a smile. Joey loved his family and friends with all his heart. He would spend many nights enjoying the company of his goldfish that he also cherished deeply.
The family would like to thank his sister Crow and niece Punky for always making sure his needs were met and for all the love and support they gave him. Also thanks to Tom , Paul, Trevor Boudreau, Jason and Brayden “The Brat” who were always just a phone call or text away.
Joey was predeceased by mother Carmella “Connie” Murray, Father John “Harvey” Murray, brother Robert and sister Donna, nephew Murray and great niece Emiera, and brother in law Norman, and sister in law, Roseanne. Joey is survived by his brothers John, Jordan (Maryanne), Simon ( Jeannie) , Frankie ( Ann Louise), and Leo and brother in law Tom. Joey is survived by his sisters. Maryanne, Vina(Frankie), Catherine (Peter), Colleen (Dave), and Allison (Mark). He is also survived by his step father Wayne , Godmother Rosemary along with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Joey also left behind some of his dearest friends Bonnie Davis and Paul Richards. He looked forward to their texts and calls daily.
