Joe McCann, 63, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, September 3, 2022.
Beloved husband of Sande McCann. Dear father of Samantha and James (Marjorie). Proud “Poppa” of Aedan and Leo. Dear brother of Merlyn Eckert, Sheila Margaret McCann, Kathy Elliott (Don), Susan Olson, Bill, Rod (Sherry) and Tim (Cathy). Dear brother-in-law of Nancy McCann, Don Kobbes and Sheila McCann. He will be remembered his mother-in-law Janis Murray and family. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Leonard and Rita McCann, brothers Charlie and Fred, brother-in-law Jim Eckert and father-in-law Bruce Murray.
Joe was the most tenured employee at Dyna-Mig in Stratford having been employed there for 25 years. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, woodworking and especially fishing and hockey with his grandson Aedan.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. Those attending the visitation are asked to schedule a time at LockhartFuneralHome.com or by calling the funeral home at 519-348-8643. Joe’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 8 at 3:00 p.m. (scheduling not required to attend funeral service). Interment in Knox Presbyterian Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
