Obituary
Joseph Hrabi passed away peacefully among family at his home on May 4th. He is now reunited with his late wife of sixty-six years, Florentine. Loving father to Elaine (Michael), Blaine (Mary) and Myrna (David). Beloved grandfather to Michelle, David, Mary, Sarah, Joseph, Shayla and Katie; great-grandfather to Kate, John, Emilyn, Christopher and Delilah. Joe was a generous giver of his time and help wherever it was needed. He fought for his country in WW2 with the Regina Rifles and helped liberate the town of Workum, Netherlands. Joe lived a full and active life and was always on the go. He was an avid sports fan, a master at crib and bid euchre, and a member of the Snowcrest Riders snowmobile club, the Knights of Columbus and the Gravenhurst Curling Club. His greatest pleasures, however, were in the moments he spent surrounded by family and friends at the beautiful home he built on Share-A-Shore, Kahshe Lake. Many thanks to the whole palliative team, a group of people that took such loving care of Joe and his family in the last week of his life. A memorial mass and reception will be held at 10:30 on Saturday May 14 at St. Paul’s Church, 235 John Street, Gravenhurst. In lieu of flowers, his family requests a donation be made to the North Simcoe Muskoka Hospice Palliative Care Network (Hospice Orillia)hospiceorillia.ca/donate/.
