Mr. Joseph Ariganello, age 80 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022 in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Joseph was born April 20, 1941 in Serra San Bruno, Catanzaro, Italy to Brunina (nee Bonazza) and Michele Ariganello. Along with his family, he came to Canada as a teen growing up in Port Arthur. He met Brenda Pacholczak and after five years together they were married on September 3, 1966. Joseph was a family man who loved and supported his wife and children. Later, his grandchildren were his pride and joy and he was happiest spending time with them. Joe was a long time member of the Italian Society of Port Arthur where he loved playing pool and cards with friends. He was an accomplished league bowler at Galaxy Lanes and enjoyed dancing with Brenda at the RCL Polish Combatants Hall and the Italian Cultural Centre. Joseph, Brenda and family spent many summers at their camp at Silver Lake, where Joe was often the winner of the summer Bocce tournament. Joseph was employed with the City of Thunder Bay in Parks and Recreation, retiring in 1991 after many dedicated years.
Survived by his loving wife, Brenda and their children, Michelle (Matt), Mellissa (Ralph) and Marianne (Logan); grandchildren, Alex, Leanna and Nathaniel; siblings, Teresa Belcamino, Bruno (Adele) and Toni (Jose) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Predeceased by his parents, brother, Mike and brother in-law Biagio Belcamino.
Funeral services for the late Mr. Joseph Ariganello will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 with family and friends gathering in St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Ciaran Donnelly. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma with Vigil Prayers offered at 7:00pm in the chapel, led by Deacon Pasquale Coccimiglio.

COVID-19 Protective measures are still being applied in group settings. Masks or face coverings are required for those attending the service.
