Obituary for
John Krewusik
May 31, 1930 – May 18,2022
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of John Krewusik on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the age of 91 years.
John was born in 1930 in Vegreville, AB. He married Adelaide Kachmar in 1953 and they had four children.
Left to mourn are his loving wife, Adelaide; children, Patricia Lennox and Terry (Paulette) Krewusik, grandchildren; Johnathan (Laura) Lennox, Aubree Krewusik, Nolan Krewusik, and great-grandson, Quentin Lennox; sister, Shirley (Paul) Koroluk; and sister-in-law, Marion Krewusik; brothers-in-law, John (Ann) Kachmar and Eugene (Mavis) Kachmar. Stan Lennox and Anita Krewusik will also remember him as their father-in-law. He is preceded in death by parents, Tillie and Steve Krewusik; son, Stephen; daughter, Sylvia; and brothers, Sandy and Joe.
John became a Journeyman carpenter in 1954 and spent the majority of his career with PCL Construction. He traveled all over Canada and the Northwest territories completing different jobs for PCL. In later years he held the position of Construction Civil Superintendent and then retired at the age 55.
During his retirement, John was able to spend time doing what he loved-being around horses and doing sleigh rides for many winters. He also enjoyed woodworking; leatherwork with saddles and harnesses; and building and repairing sleighs and carriages. He loved attending rodeos and stampedes; the Ponoka stampede was a favourite of his and of course never missed the Calgary Stampede chuck wagon races on TV each night. The outdoors was also a passion for him, he went on many hunting and fishing trips, horse and wagon rides into the mountains and worked as a hunting guide in the Ya Ha Tinda area, west of Sundre, AB where he tended to the horses needed for hunts. He also loved traveling all over Mexico for many years, with church and family friends or just his wife. They met many great new friends on their trips. In the later years when his and Adelaide’s mobility started to struggle, Terry would look after them for 2-week trips to ensure they enjoyed themselves and got home safely. He also spent a great deal of time on his farmland north of Lamont, having cattle for a period of time and completing many projects he wished to do at the farm.
Our family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and care workers at Station 22; Leduc Community Hospital; Rivercrest Care Centre, Fort Saskatchewan; and Silver Birch Haven for their kindness and care, we will be forever grateful.
A private family only service will be held.

So sorry for your loss Terry, cherish the good memories! You did so such for your dad over the years and especially the last few, we know it’s so hard to take care of an elderly parent.
