We, the family of John Daniel MacCuish, announce his passing on Monday, October 3, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born December 13, 1942, in Sydney, he was a son of the late Daniel Hector and Rose (MacMillan) MacCuish.
John is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (MacDonald); daughters, Margaret (John) Billard, Sydney and Amanda MacCuish (Clark Peters), Edmonton; sons, Jamie (Barbara), Ont., Phillip, Albert Bridge and Kenny (Melinda), Sydney; grandchildren, Daniel MacCuish, Katherine Hunt, Kimberly MacCuish, Kristen MacCuish, Shamus MacCuish, Sabrina MacCuish, Johnny MacCuish and Chris Young; great-grandchildren, Jonah, Noah, Serinna, Victorya, Trenton, Carter, Matthew, Connor, Parker, Finley, Rosie, Cohen, Elijah, Eli, Curtis, Kael and Isabel; sisters, Susanne (Mickey) Morrison, Sydney River, Sharon (Allison) Hall, Albert Bridge and Heather MacCuish (Kevin Donnelly), Ont brother, John “Boo”, Ont and his special aunt who was like a second mom Katie Belle Hall.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his son, John Francis in infancy and great-grandson, Jack MacCuish.
A private family service will take place with interment in Loch End Cemetery, Catalone.
Memorials may be made to the Lung Association.
