Retired Chief of Police, Windsor Ontario
John passed away peacefully on March 8, 2022 at the age of 98. John was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Barbara (2014). Loving father to Susan, Shirley Ann and Jaye (John). Much loved grandpa to Patrick (Marsha) and Marcus (Lauren) and proud great-grandpa to Clara and Cooper. John will be greatly missed by his sister Margaret, numerous nephews and nieces especially by Barbara Jean to whom he was very close.
John was a proud Canadian who served in the airforce during WW2. On his return to Canada he joined the Windsor Police Department retiring 38 years later as Chief of Police.
Special thanks to all his caregivers from Home Instead especially Kathleen and Rose and Allison and Mark from Paramed for their devotion and care to John over the last five years. Thanks as well to the staff at 7 North at Met Campus for their exceptional care and compassion during this most difficult time.
If you so desire, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Per John’s request there will be no visitation and cremation has taken place.
