With broken hearts we announce the passing of our Father and Grandfather, JOHN FRANCZUZ on February 5, 20225 at 93 years of age. Devoted husband of Helen (nee Mallo) and loving father of Steven (Margaret), Brian (Shelley), Martin and Linda. Proud grandfather of Kyle, Brent, Connor and Alaura, Justin and John, Kylie, Brooklynn and Dayne and Great-Grandfather to Lexi and Bentley.
Born in Hungary, John crossed the Atlantic with his mother at age 4 while his father Mike joined them later in Delhi, Ontario before settling in Windsor.
John retired from Hiram Walkers after 31 years of dedicated service. He proudly served as a Canadian Peacekeeper in Korea with the Queen’s Own Rifles as a Sergeant Gunnery Instructor.
John was a loyal fan of the Spitfires, the Detroit Red Wings and in recent times a fan of Brooklynn’s hockey team the Lakeshore Lightning. Papa John was a main fixture at Timmies every morning meeting up with his group of friends.
We will miss Papa John’s beautiful smile, his wonderful sense of humour and his storytelling. He will be remembered always for his generosity and gentle spirit.

On Friday February 11, 2022 reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend visitation from 12 pm – 1 pm. A separate reservation is required to attend the funeral service at 1pm at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens.
