To our deep sorrow, it has pleased the Lord to take out of our midst our beloved father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and brother-in-law, at the age of 78 years on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Beloved husband of the late Geraldine Engelen (Veldjesgraaf).
Loving father of John Engelen, Bob & Jacqueline Engelen, and Connie & Andrew Boon. Beloved grandfather of Kariena, Shawn, Trevor and Geralyn Engelen and Melanie Boon.
He is survived by his sisters Riet van de Bosch, Hennie (Arie) Van Ommeren and Bep Speksnijder, all of Holland and his sisters-in-law Wilma (Bill) Van Egdom (Otterville) and Bertha Stubbe (Norwich).
Predeceased by his grandson Elbert Engelen (2021), 1 brother, 5 sisters, 14 brothers-in-law and 7 sisters-in-law.
Friends and family will be received at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation, 43 Main Street East, Norwich, Ontario on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 10:00-10:45 A.M.
A funeral service will be held at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. D.V., Reverend E. Hakvoort officiating. Spring internment at Norwich Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Bethany Care Home of Norwich, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
