John’s Obituary
McLean, John Douglas – 80, of Middleton, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Center, Middleton. Born in Margaretville, he was a son of the late Harry and Ruby (Nixon) McLean. John was a kindhearted gentleman who was extraordinarily gifted on the piano. He made many wonderful friends throughout his years living in British Columbia, Yarmouth, and eventually back in the Annapolis Valley. Surviving are his son, Seann McLeanns and his mother, Laara McLeanns (Mike), all of Abbottsford, BC; daughter Jennifer Varga and her mother, Helen, both of St. Thomas, ON; brothers William “George” McLean, Godrich, ON; Angus (Mary) McLean, Torbrook; Robert (Gabrielle) McLean, Burlington, ON; sister Alice McLean, Ottawa, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Alexandra Otis; sister Mary; and sister-in-law Ruth. A graveside service will be held in Church Grove Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Heart of the Valley for the wonderful care John received while he was there. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
