With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of John Bartley, on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at University Hospital – LHSC. Beloved husband of Claudette. Loving father of Jessica MacLeod (Marc), Gregory MacLeod, and Sarah MacLeod. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Bryant, Alexander, Mace, and Paige Carey. Dear brother of Deb (Len) Healy and Ruth (Cleveland) Kameka. Survived by his mother-in-law Mary McNeice, sister-in-law Barbara Smyth, and brothers-in-law Leonard (Laverne) McNeice, Stephen (Lee) McNeice, Bill (Elizabeth) McNeice, David (Caroline) McNeice, and Peter (Joni) McNeice. Predeceased by his parents Melville and Sandra, father-in-law Leonard McNeice, and sister-in-law Terri White. John will be missed by his many dear friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family wishes to thank the medical team, specifically in the ICU and Transplant Departments, for their care and support of John and our family. The family also wishes to thank John’s work family at CN Rail for their constant support and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of John’s life will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).
